#FlashBackFashion: 25 Glamisodes from the First Lady of Style!

Michelle Obama always defines to us why she is the most stylish first lady  yet!

It is truly sad that Michelle Obama’s reign as the First Lady of the United States (FLOTUS) has almost come to an end. Nearly eight years ago. She not only held the position with amazing grace & class, but became one of the most stylish American first ladies ever!

Like Chimamanda Adichie said in her love letter to FLOTUS, “Michelle Obama has become an American style icon. Her dresses and workouts. Her carriage and curves. Toned arms and long slender fingers. Even her favored kitten heels, for women who cannot fathom wearing shoes in the halfway house between flats and high heels, have earned a certain respect because of her. No public figure better embodies that mantra of full female selfhood: Wear what you like.”

From being an internationalist when it comes to fashion, Michelle celebrates the work of a diverse group of designers & brands – from Michael Kors to Alexander McQueen, Duro Olowu, Naeem Khan, Versace, Jean Paul Gaultier, Vera Wang, Tom Ford, Maki Oh & Ralph Lauren – among several others that cut across the world.

Over the years I have followed her every move, especially her amazing elegant style that she has flaunted to several state dinners, ball events or celebrations. What I love most about Michelle is that she isn’t afraid to get experimental, even in a fancy dress. She never plays it safe for any reason. She can surprise us all with a bold color or print, or even a daring accessory.

Today I’ll be flashing back on Michelle’s tasteful Hollywood glamour as the Obama’s prepare to vacate the White House.

Enjoy!
